2025 Mission Pledge: The total 2025 mission pledge is $37,017.00, which had been distributed among the seven mission organizations. We give thanks for the congregation’s faithful support of God’s work.
Church office Update: The term of our temporary secretary will conclude on January 31, 2026. We sincerely thank Nelson Chung for his faithful and dedicated service over the past three months. For administrative matters, please contact Toby Cheng (part-time administrative staff) or Bertha Choy, Council Chair. For finance-related matters, including reimbursements, please contact Kitty Ho, our Treasurer. We also invite the congregation to pray for God’s provision and guidance as we seek and call a long-term administrative secretary.
Bylaw Amendments: The Council is reviewing amendments to the bylaws regarding voting membership and will be forming a task force to follow up. Once the work is completed, a congregational meeting will be held for discussion and voting. In the meantime, an interim voting membership policy has been approved and is available for the congregation’s review.
Church Development: The Council discussed the Wayfinder proposal, which involves constructing a six-story building on the church’s existing land, combining church facilities, residential units, and affordable housing. The preliminary report indicates that it is feasible to build housing while rebuilding the church, with the support of available funding. However, the Council is still in the discernment process and has not yet reached a shared decision on the direction. Therefore, we invite the congregation to pray with us and seek God together, asking for wisdom, unity, courage, and clarity as we discern God’s will for our church and our calling in this place.
Theological Training Opportunity: The Chinese Synod in Canada (CSIC) 加拿大信義宗華聯會and the Lutheran Theological Seminary (LTS) 信義宗神學院 in Hong Kong are collaborating to equip Christian leaders for Chinese Lutheran churches in Canada through a theological program designed according to Lutheran doctrine and the Chinese context. The three-year program (24 credits) provides systematic theological training and specialized courses tailored to the needs of Chinese Lutheran churches in Canada. We hope to have one or two students from our church participate, with tuition partially sponsored by CSIC and the church. For more information, please speak with the pastors.
EM Pastoral search: After careful discernment, we have concluded that the previous candidate was not fully aligned with the needs of the English Ministry. We will continue to seek God’s guidance throughout the search process.
